Biography

Chantelle Scott BSc; composer, producer, multi instrumentalist and sound engineer. Inspired and nourished by sound.

From her shy beginnings as a singer, through the wild days of Djing eventually taking the reins and developing her own music production skills and studying audio engineering, she has performed on many stages in and around the UK and abroad and composed music for many different projects. She has signed works and several releases on all the usual platforms. A pianist and singer at heart, she has nurtured her love of the keys throughout her life and wound it into the core of many of her pieces.

Chantelle's composition work has been varied; from art galleries to short films. She has written the score for several children's theatre productions including a play at the Lowry, Manchester. She has also been involved in creating sound effects and ambience in many of these roles. Her composition work has meant she has got to run away with the circus on several occasions and she has worked with dance and circus companies both in the UK and abroad. She has played live as part of the performance in some of these works including a residency at the Glastonbury Big Top.

Chantelle has been signed to a record label, released several of her own albums, and continues to create and write music. She has recorded and produced, mixed and mastered a variety of artists from hip hop, experimental electronic, to extreme performance artists.

Vieka is her own ongoing musical and performance outlet in which she weaves through all manner of sounds; blending, warping and creating impassioned soundscapes with subtle field recordings from nature, life and the wide-wide world. She uses many instruments to ground, embellish and build the pieces. Obtuse creations of synthesised bass, noise and samples come from deep within the frequency spectrum. Expect a soup of sounds & instruments, a sonic smorgasbord.

Chantelle is driven to share her knowledge and demystify all the ways in which to capture sound, make music and get creating the soundtrack to our souls. Her hands on approach is deeply influenced by the lack of music and audio engineering role models available as a young woman.
