A bit about me
Whether it is recording sound in natural environments such as bird song, the audio documentation of extreme performance artists or recording musicians and choirs, I’m nourished and inspired by sound. Regularly touched by music and our audible environment; live gigs, the babble of children, the roar of a crowd or my favorite album flooding me with memories. I have become more and more interested in making it and capturing it as my life proceeds.

The magic of capturing and transferring the simple vibrations of molecules via a plethora of man made devices and electrical wires only to be spat out the end as a vibration of molecules once more, excites me.

I remember recording the sound track of The Neverending Story as one of my earliest memories of tape.

I began playing the piano when Grandma gave me hers. I've always sang, played music, been in bands or DJed. Now I create, compose and produce. In my 20’s, I had been involved with the Manchester underground dance music scene. I was one of the few female DJ’s.
At that point, I began to learn music production by watching friends and producers for hours. Then endlessly playing about with sounds and recording, I started to make music in DAW’s. This drove my love of capturing and manipulating sound.
Then, I made a life changing decision to do an audio engineering and technology diploma, make music my career...
...and now, here I am.

I love sharing my knowledge and demystifying ways in which to capture sound, create music, fix bothersome computers that are not responding to the required software or solder a lead back into place.
My hands-on approach, I feel, is deeply influenced by the lack of music and audio engineering role models I had as a young woman, and thus I see it as a way in which to inspire and drive people, particularly women, towards this field.
